Spring 2012 Update

Here is an update for the season on training days, times and location.

Academy Training Days and Times:

We will train on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Academy will be from 5:30-7:00 and Jr Academy from 4:30-5:30.

Academy began training on Tuesday, February 7th!

Junior Academy will begin March 6th

NEW TRAINING LOCATION:

Oconee Veterans Park

3500 Hog Mountain Road

Watkinsville, Ga

Remember:

Academy fees are due NOW.

Jr Academy Training begins March 6 at 4:30pm. Registration and Fees are due March 1st.

Small Sided Soccer coming soon!

Small Sided Soccer is a great way to maximize touches with the ball. It is fun, fast and builds skills. A program that will serve this area will begin in March. It is a low cost fun way for kids to develop. Opportunities for tournament play at 3v3 and 5v5 events will be part of the program. Look for more information soon!!!!

OFC on Twitter

Oconee FC is on Twitter. We will use Twitter as an avenue to communicate more efficiently with the entire club. It is very easy even if you have never used it. Sign up and search @OconeeFC. Click to follow Oconee FC.

Some examples on how we all can use Twitter is to notify everyone if we have to cancel a training, updates on games and tournaments scores and training tips . You can check Twitter via computer or phone and will see the message. You can set up to be notified too if you want. We hope this will increase effective communications for the club. It will not help every person but will help with the vast majority. Look for a notice soon on our Facebook page to also be a tool to communicate with the club.

Some Quick Tips:
By including @OconeeFC in your Tweet will place your Tweet in the Our feed for all to read.
By including # tag on keywords will help twitter file in category.

Fields Update

Fields – We in the final stages of planning for the new field. We’re looking forward to having it ready prior to next season. Following the season, we will also top dress (to smooth) SW as well as expand the space for a u12 size pitch.

Check out our new “OFC” soccer balls… These are way cool and are made of a real high quality material sure to last a long time. Junior Academy to begin March 15th!

Junior Academy will begin training on Tuesday, March 15th. There will be no training on April 5th and 7th due to Oconee spring break. Registrations will remain open until March 15th. Late registrations will still be accepted but we would like registrations as soon as possible in order to afford your player all training sessions and for planning purposes.
