Skills camp opener rained out

The soccer skills camp opening day, December 27th has been canceled due to rain.  Camp will commence tomorrow, December 28th at 9:00 AM.  The make up date for today’s session will be announced at the camp.  Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

OFC Soccer Skills Camp – Dec 27-29
  • Who: Players from 7yrs to 15yrs – Any Level of Play (Boys and Girls)
  • When: Dec 27-29 (9am-12pm) Must be registered by Dec. 16 to be guaranteed t-shirt size.
  • Where: South Wire Soccer Field (Barnett Shoals Rd. Watkinsville)
  • Cost: $65 per player/$50 second child (Includes Camp t-shirt)
  • Staff: Dante Trevino, Pat Mercardante, and Oconee FC Coaches.

Camp curriculum will focus primarily on ball control, finishing, and shooting. Players will improve technical ability, decision making, increase their confidence, and improve their control of the ball and the ability to score.

Training groups will be age and skill appropriate.

Primary trainers are experienced, have college playing experience, and a USSF National Coaching License.

Bring a ball, shin guards, a healthy snack and plenty of water each day.

Oconee Futbol Club is offering indoor Futsal again for the fourth straight year. With more than 250 area players and growing, we offer a great opportunity to try this exciting international sport. Oconee FC is on Twitter. We will use Twitter as an avenue to communicate more efficiently with the entire club. It is very easy even if you have never used it. Sign up and search @OconeeFC. Click to follow Oconee FC.

Some examples on how we all can use Twitter is to notify everyone if we have to cancel a training, updates on games and tournaments scores and training tips .  You can check Twitter via computer or phone and will see the message. You can set up to be notified too if you want. We hope this will increase effective communications for the club. It will not help every person but will help with the vast majority.  Look for a notice soon on our Facebook page to also be a tool to communicate with the club.

Fields Update

Fields – We in the final stages of planning for the new field. We’re looking forward to having it ready prior to next season. Following the season, we will also top dress (to smooth) SW as well as expand the space for a u12 size pitch.
